About Courage Co-Op

Courage Co-op is a pre-k-8th grade Christian co-op. We offer a mix of core and elective classes. Classes are facilitated by dedicated teachers who bring structure and creativity to each lesson. 2026 Spring Classes

Courage Community Co-Op provides engaging classes for students from Pre-K through 8th grade.

We meet once a week on Mondays. Students in 1st–8th grade participate in a three-period day, while our Pre-K/Kinder class enjoys a two-period schedule. Along with weekly classes, we offer monthly field trips to enrich learning. To help build a strong and connected homeschool community, Courage requires all families to enroll full-time.

Courage Co-op Schedule:

9:30 - Chapel

9:45 - 1st period

10:45 - Recess

11:00 - 2nd period

12:00 - Lunch

12:30 - 3rd period

PreK - Kindergarten

This will be a combined class for ages 4 and up and will meet during the 1st and 2nd class periods. Language arts and math concepts will be reinforced and explored in new ways through direct instruction and creative activities. Students will grow in their academic knowledge as well as in their ability to be confident and curious learners.

Exploring History with American Girl Doll Literature

Description: Let’s bring US history to life with historical fiction characters using the American Girl Doll book and character series. We’ll study time periods starting with early American history, move through the Revolutionary War/ colonial America era and end with a star-spangled bang during the War of 1812. Charlotte Mason inspired principles will lead the classroom studies including delightful discussions, note-booking, map work, timelines and plenty of hands-on activities, and art. As time allows for each student, out of class work will include directed reading and multi-media links for extended learning (optional). Your student will be sure to fall in love with history through all the classic thematic and beloved characteristics of each American Girl Doll.

Intro to Art- Art Through the Continents

An influence is never small, and in art, artists draw from a wealth of rich resources that

connect them despite distance or time. In this session of Intro to Art, students will learn about

artists and art forms from around the world. While materials like clay and paint may not vary

much, the way artisans use these materials to express themselves and their culture vary

greatly around the world. Journey with us around the world and experience art through the

continents.

Science & Engineering

Get ready for an exciting hands-on science and engineering journey! In this 12-week course designed for 1st-3rd graders, students will dive into chemistry experiments and creative engineering challenges.

During the first half of the course, students will explore chemistry by building erupting volcanoes, testing fruits for Vitamin C, creating water-zapping reactions, generating electricity with fruit and potato batteries, separating hidden colors with chromatography, and experimenting with surprising materials like Oobleck.

In the second half, students will step into the world of engineering: exploring density, building catapults, designing simple telescopes, constructing strong bridges, creating balloon-powered cars, and engineering marble roller coasters — all while learning important concepts like forces, motion, gravity, and design thinking.

Each class is filled with experiments, teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity, encouraging students to think like young scientists and engineers!

Adventures in Writing

Journey with us through the structures of narrative, informative, persuasive, and creative writing. For each style of writing, students will practice the writing process, which starts with brainstorming and ends with a final presentation. Students will also engage in activities to help with the use of punctuation, descriptive language, transitional words, and how to use resources to inform. Students will explore writing examples and stories to help inspire their writing endeavors.

Culinary for Kids!

In this culinary class for kids, students will learn basic cooking techniques including how to use

kitchen tools, how to read a recipe, and how to keep their area clean all taught in a small

group setting. Students will be able to enjoy a sample of their culinary creation during class.

Recipes may include dairy, grain, nuts, eggs, meat, and spices. All supplies and ingredients

included.

Let's Science Fair

Learning how to present is no easy task but we will tackle it together. Each student will find the right subject they are passionate about, work on types of research using books, articles, and the internet, and learn how to compile the information, citing it correctly.

Once that is complete, we’ll walk through a research paper, put together a display board, and learn how to present in front of an audience with the co-op community!
